Tate Malima’s Dedication to Community Sanitation in Karibib
By DWN
In the heart of UIS Informal Settlement, Karibib, Tate Malima has been the dedicated caretaker of one of the sanitation centres constructed by Development Workshop Namibia (DWN) in 2019, with funding support from B2Gold and UNICEF. For years, he has taken on the responsibility of ensuring that the facility remains clean, functional, and accessible to the community.
Tate Malima shared his gratitude for being entrusted with this important role, emphasising how proper sanitation has improved the quality of life for residents. His commitment to maintaining the facility has played a vital role in promoting hygiene and preventing open defecation in the area.
The sanitation centre serves as a crucial infrastructure in the settlement, providing residents with safe and dignified toilet facilities. Thanks to community-driven efforts and Tate Malima’s dedication, the facility continues to serve those in need, ensuring healthier and cleaner surroundings for everyone.
As DWN and its partners continue working towards better sanitation solutions, Tate Malima’s story is a testament to the power of community involvement in sustaining essential infrastructure.
